FORMER Oldham loose-forward Terry Flanagan will come under the spotlight tonight in a special interview to be broadcast on Sky Sports.

Grasscroft-based Flanagan, now a successful businessman, will be grilled by former Oldham team-mate Barrie McDermott during an item which will be screened at 7pm ahead of the First Utility Super League clash between Wakefield Wildcats and Widnes Vikings.

The interview was filmed recently at Gallery Oldham and will focus first and foremost on Flanagan’s rugby league career.

The screening will also highlight some of his considerable business and charitable involvements.

An Oldham Hall of Fame inductee, Flanagan was a one-club man, playing for his home-town team almost 300 times between 1979 and 1989.

He scored 42 tries, and 147 points in total.

Former Saddleworth Rangers club chairman Flanagan won four caps for Great Britain – two against France in 1983 and one each against New Zealand and Papua New Guinea in 1984.

He played hooker in Oldham’s 27-6 defeat by Wigan in the 1986 Lancashire Cup final at St Helens, before being awarded a testimonial match in 1989.
