Rojo to roll for United

LOUIS van Gaal has made a breakthrough in his mission to reinforce Manchester United’s defence.
A deal has been struck to bring Argentinian star Marcos Rojo to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon
Portuguese winger Nani will return to his former club as part of the deal.
Centre–back Rojo (24) will become a United player once he has passed a medical and agreed personal terms.
Rojo is comfortable both at centre- and left–back and played all 120 minutes of July’s World Cup final.
In an interview with Argentinian radio he said: “It’s a dream to play at Manchester United and I am very proud of having the chance of working with Van Gaal.”
United’s move for Rojo had been complicated by a row between Sporting and a third–party ownership group, while the player upset his employers by initially refusing to train in a bid to push through the deal. He later apologised and returned to work.
The 27–year–old Nani, who moved to Manchester seven years ago, is understood to have joined the Lions on a season–long loan, but neither club has released details about the move.
