TONIGHT’S Champions league clash against Roma at the Etihad really is set to be a pivotal one for us.

It was a bitter disappointment to lose in Munich in the first game – that last-minute goal was a real killer.

Roma beat CSKA Moscow in the other fixture, so defeat tonight could leave City six points adrift already.

That’s unthinkable, but Manuel Pellegrini will know exactly how much is at stake so he’ll be planning accordingly.

It was a decent performance at Hull on Saturday. There were one or two dodgy defensive moments in the first half, but overall City were worthy winners. With due respect to teams like Hull, if City have got designs on retaining their title this year then they simply have to be beating teams like that.

It was another three points towards the pursuit of Chelsea.

Work continues to go well at City, though I’m not sure what I’ve let myself in for this week!

We’ve organised a small boxing tournament for a feature for the website, and I’m going to be fighting Alexandr Kolarov at Joe Pennington’s gym near the Etihad Stadium.

It’ll probably see Alex in the centre of the ring for 10 rounds and me trying to dance around him the whole time. We’ll see how long I can keep that up before he catches me!

It’s all going to be good fun, as is my new line in poetry, which will be featured on the City website soon.
