LEE Johnson labelled Peterborough's pitch a disgrace after Athletic picked up a point on a soft, muddy surface at London Road.

The result pushed the current unbeaten run to eight matches ahead of a home double against Barnsley tomorrow in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy (7.30pm) and Walsall on Saturday in the league.

Despite the satisfaction of remaining unbeaten, the poor quality of the field left Athletic’s manager seething: “The pitch was a disgrace. I was really disappointed with it. It was a shambles,” he said.

“I am pleased we played them now, because come January it will be an absolute bog.”

Genseric Kusunga, whose precise header from a Mike Jones cross earned his team a point in the 2-2 draw, is not available for tomorrow’s game due to his international commitments with Angola.

Timothee Dieng is likely to start.

Johnson warned that long-term injury victim Adam Lockwood isn’t yet close to rejoining the first team.

“He will probably be able to play a reserve game in two and a half weeks,” Johnson added, reckoning on up to five weeks before he’s again ready for the first team.

George Elokobi remains out of contention with a thigh injury which will keep him out for around three weeks, but Joseph Mills could return tomorrow.

Johnson also expects to bag a new striker by the time the Saddlers arrive at SportsDirect.com Park.

“We are getting there and are still hopeful that by the back end of the week we will get somebody,” Johnson said of his continuing forward hunt.
