United 25-1 for league title

SPORTS BETTING:

MANCHESTER United’s odds for winning the Premier League title have been cut after successive home wins against West Ham and Everton.

But their old failings resurfaced again at West Brom and the Reds are out to 25-1 to regain the crown they surrendered last season.

It is plain to see that United will achieve nothing with the current personnel at the back. Rafael is OK going forward but a joke as a defender - and he’s not the only one.

Luke Shaw was ropey at the Hawthorns, though is likely to get better with more games, while the centre of defence remains a disaster waiting to happen.

Marcos Rojo, Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling – when he is fit again – are not the answer and despite United’s obvious riches at the other end of the pitch, I can’t see anything other than a Chelsea win when Jose Mourinho’s men come to town on Sunday.

I think 6-4 about a Chelsea victory is a great price as they will give little away at the back and will be like children in a sweet shop at the other end.

Chelsea are 8-15 to win the Premier League title with main rivals rivals Manchester City at 5-2.

It’s 25-1 bar those two, so a more interesting market is the race to finish in the top four and book a place in next season’s Champions League.

Chelsea and City are unbackable, but Arsenal and United are 4-6, with Liverpool evens, Tottenham 7-1, Southampton 8-1 and Everton 10-1.

RECOMMENDATION: Chelsea to beat Manchester United on Sunday, 6-4 (general).
