Rusty Thunder silence Jets

NETBALL:
DESPITE a sluggish start, Manchester Thunder saw off Yorkshire Jets 49-35 in a pre-season friendly in Huddersfield.
It was the first competitive outing against a Superleague team for Thunder since they were crowned champions in April. Their lack of match sharpness was clear in the opening exchanges.
Jets pounced on Thunder’s hesitancy and enjoyed a 13-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
But they failed to build on their lead and Thunder started to find their rhythm.
Thunder edged 23-21 ahead at half-time and though scrappy, the reigning champions did enough to claim victory.
