Pendulum hasn’t swung to Reds – Jovetic

STEVAN Jovetic insists Manchester City are favourites to win Sunday’s derby against United, despite their recent wobble.

City stretched their win-free streak to three matches on Wednesday in a shock 2–0 home defeat to Newcastle.

The losses have left manager Manuel Pellegrini worried about his team's form for Sunday's game against United.

City striker Jovetic admires United's summer signings, but is convinced his own team is primed to serve up a backlash.

"Every one of us has big confidence and we just need to show that on Sunday,” he said. I’m sure we are going to show our real face against United."

City playmaker David Silva is a doubt for the derby after limping out of the action with a knee problem after just nine minutes against Newcastle.

Yaya Toure has been withdrawn as a precaution, due to a groin injury.

Former United striker Andy Cole expects Wayne Rooney to take out his pent–up frustration on City.

United captain Rooney is available for selection for the first time in five weeks following his three–match ban for a kick at West Ham's Stewart Downing.

"He has got to be raring to go," said Cole. "I have no doubt he will be chomping at the bit.”
