City can still rescue European dream

OF course the odds are stacked against City as we prepare to take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight.

It’s a must-win game, as City sit at the bottom of the group with only two points from four games.

There can’t be any negative attitudes in that dressing room, though. While there’s still a chance of qualifying the players must stay focused - and they will. Manuel Pellegrini will have reminded them about the time they beat Munich 3-2 last season.

It’s probably a good thing that Bayern have already qualified for the last 16. Pep Guardiola might throw in one or two players that wouldn’t normally have featured, so that could weaken them slightly.

If City can win tonight and then beat Roma then they might be able to rescue the situation — stranger things have happened. Every player has got to be 100 per cent committed.

Back at base, staff at City’s new complex across the way from the stadium are still getting used to their new surroundings.

I’m in a lovely office with the rest of the website team, but I still miss the playing environment terribly; the day-to-day banter with the lads. But it’s nice I’m able to get out and about - in fact, I’m in Delph this weekend, cutting the ribbon at the newly-refurbished Co-op store!
