Goal-getter Aguero still man for me

GIVEN that Manchester City had lost four of the previous five matches at Everton, I suppose a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park this time should be seen as a fair result. But I was disappointed in the end.

City dominated the first half and should have been two or three up at the break. Everton haven’t been enjoying the best of spells and they were there for the taking - but at least it’s another game unbeaten.

The next two Premier League games are against Arsenal and Chelsea — pivotal ones in my view.

Arsenal are hitting a bit of form and impressed against Stoke. They’ve always had a reputation for playing attacking football and they’ll be looking to exploit City’s defensive department at the Etihad.

They’ve got one of the form strikers in the division, too, in Alexis Sanchez.

He has proved to be a great buy for the Gunners this season, and I’ve noticed he’s been compared to Sergio Aguero.

I can see similarities between the two players. They’re both powerful, with a definite eye for goal, but I wouldn’t swap the two — give me Aguero any day of the week.

It was terrific to see him back in the fold at Everton. In fact it was nice just to see a couple of strikers available after the recent problems with injuries.

With so many huge games coming up over the next month, Aguero is just the kind of player City will need to strike fear into opposition defences.
