Bony aims for flying start

WILFRIED Bony hopes he can continue his fine scoring record against Newcastle this weekend.

The striker joined City a month ago, but only met his new team mates this week after helping Ivory Coast win the African Nations Cup.

He admits it could take time for City fans to see the best of him - but Newcastle might not relish coming up against a player who has scored three times in two previous games against them.

Bony, who netted 34 times in 70 appearances for Swansea, said: "It feels like a while since I signed the contract, but finally I'm here. I'm really happy about that.

"For me, it was really important to make this decision for my career and my life and I'm very happy to be a City player. My new team–mates have welcomed me to the club and I'm already feeling at home.”

MANCHESTER United will tomorrow play the club Bony has recently left.

Swansea were visitors at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season and won 2-1.

Though their play hasn’t been impressive this season they have been very hard to beat - and that has put them third in the table, five points behind the leaders.

Swansea are ninth in the Premier League standings, but lack fire power since Bony’s departure.
