Stand by for a hectic summer

OF course it turned out to be a hugely disappointing day for City in the Manchester derby, and that after such an encouraging start.

It was looking pretty good in that opening spell when Sergio Aguero scored from close range, but after that the team seemed to fall apart.

There’s been a sharp focus on the team since, but I feel City can still secure second spot in the table.

To be honest it’s got to be top three really, because the team that finishes fourth have to go into a play-off to reach the Champions League group stage, and that’s not an ideal scenario.

It’s all about bouncing back now, and everyone at the club, and the fans, will be wanting to see a good, positive reaction in the West Ham game this weekend.

There’s still plenty of points left to play for to make sure City get into that top three, but the battle back needs to start now.

What is going to happen over the summer has been the subject of much speculation this week. That’s just the way things are these days.

There could well be quite a turnover of players as I’m sure the manager will want to strengthen and freshen the squad.

Players who have been out of the side recently will probably be moving on, while I’m also sure the hierarchy at the club will already have targets in their minds.

It’s certainly not going to be a quiet summer at the Etihad Stadium.
