Overall it’s been a good effort from City

IT feels like Manchester City got back to form once they had realised the chances of retaining the Premier League title had gone.

They are on a great run again now, highlighted by another free-scoring display at Swansea at the weekend.

Chelsea are deserved winners of the title, of course, but at least City will be finishing no lower than third - so a Champions League place is guaranteed.

Finishing as runners-up and qualifying for the Champions League again would be a decent return for any club I think.

Overall this season has been a good effort so far. There hasn’t been much success in the cups and Europe was largely a disappointment, but Manuel Pellegrini has been hampered by injuries hitting key players at key stages in the season.

Sergio Aguero was a big miss during the middle of the campaign, while Samir Nasri has been ruled out of a lot of games and his undoubted quality has been missed. Hopefully City will end the season on a high with a win on Sunday against Southampton.

It will be interesting which way the manager will turn for new players in the summer. I’m sure there will be players on the go and new faces coming into the club. It promises to be quite a hectic spell.

There’s also been a lot of speculation about movement at the top, but to be honest, I don’t foresee any management changes.
