SPORTS BETTING: THE Ashes get underway with the first Test in Cardiff next Wednesday and the bookies reckon England are in for a bashing at the hands of Australia.
The Baggy Greens are 2-5 to win the five-match series, with England 4-1 and a draw 8-1.
Much will depend on England’s approach in the Tests and if they can adopt the same aggressive mindset they displayed against New Zealand they can make a fight of it. Back off and the Aussies will jump on them mercilessly.
JORDAN Spieth is only 7-1 to win the Open Championship at St Andrews and make it three major wins out of three in 2015.
The Masters hero added the US Open title to his CV and is well on the way to challenging Rory McIlroy as world number one.
McIlroy is the 5-1 favourite to win in Scotland later this month, while Dustin Johnson – who blew another major when three putting the final green in the US Open – is 18-1.
Justin Rose (20-1), Adam Scott (25-1), Henrik Stenson (25-1) and Louis Oosthuizen (28-1) are next in the betting.
