Naymar’s staying here - Barca

SPANISH giants Barcelona appear to have no intention of selling Brazilian superstar Neymar to Manchester United.

Reports jave indicated the Old Trafford giants were set to press on with an incredible £240million pursuit of Neymar, intending to make him the new global face of United. But newspaper Mundo Deportivo sources have confirmed the Catalan giants and current European champions have yet to receive a formal bid from United.

It is also reported that they have no intention of ever selling the player, while also confirming that the club will soon begin contract negotiations to improve and extend Neymar’s contract.

Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro and his father, Neymar Snr, have denied the reports and president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed that the club will soon begin contract renewal talks as they fully expect the 23-year-old to remain at Barcelona until he retires.

“We’ll begin talks over his contract renewal in several months because we want him to stay at Barcelona for many years to come,” said Bartomeu.

In another transfer twist, United are said to have entered the race to sign Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne, according to German reports.

De Bruyne (24) has been linked heavily with a move to Manchester City this summer. But reports in Germany have suggested he is not completely sold on the idea of joining the Blue side of Manchester - and now Sport1 is reporting Louis van Gaal has entered the race for United.
