HISTORY-makers Athletic are aiming to punish Scunthorpe and end their run of four draws.

After the enterprising show of a 3-3 draw at Gillingham, the statistics show the club’s current run of eight draws in the first 11 league games is a club record.

But while guarding his unbeaten record as a manager, Dunn is keen to break his duck by picking up three points at home.

Accepting that pessimism over the club’s prospects is bound to exist, the manager says things could easily be worse and that he’s doing everything in his power to turn fortunes round

“The club has found itself in this division for 19 years,” Dunn said. “I certainly don’t want to be in this league, and want to go up. But we haven’t done what other clubs have done — the Stockports of this world, for example. We have at least maintained this position where other sides have struggled.

“There are an awful lot of good things about Oldham. I am looking forward to every game.”

Dunn is without three loan players on international duty for the Scunthorpe game. Cameron Dummigan, Jay Fulton and Simonas Stankevicius are all out.

ATHLETIC duo Jack Tuohy and Jordan Bove made debuts for Ramsbottom United last night, helping the struggling Evo-Stik League Northern Premier outfit gain a 0-0 home draw against division leaders Blyth Spartans. First-year professional Tuohy and striker Bove, both 19, have joined the Rams on one-month youth loans.
