Top-four tilt in the balance

THERE has been disappointment for Manchester City fans now that their team’s bid for a Premier League top-four finish is out of their own hands.

City need a favour off West Ham tonight.

If the Hammers can beat, or even draw, with United, then the door becomes firmly open once again for City.

The two points dropped against Arsenal may well prove very costly indeed.

UNFORTUNATE
That was unfortunate in my view because I thought City were by far the better team.

Arsenal had two clear chances and converted them both.

When City went 2-1 up I felt confident they would go on and secure the win, but it just didn’t happen.

The importance of winning Sunday’s final game at Swansea will already have sunk in with the players now.

Everyone knows how vital it is that City do finish in the top four, but if they don’t and drop into the Europa League place, Pep Guardiola will know exactly what’s required of the players next season.

I know he’ll have his sights on winning that Premier League title back.

It proved to be a rather disappointing exit from this year’s Champions League competition in Madrid.

The most frustrating thing for me was that I felt Real Madrid were there for the taking.

The chance was there for City to progress, but too many players had an off-day.

To be honest I thought the City lads probably paid Real too much respect in the Bernabeu.

PACKED

Of course their team is packed full of world class talent, but City let them play too much and get on the ball.

Sergio Aguero seemed to be playing and coming back too deep, and he definitely wasn’t as effective as he normally is.

This week promises to be an interesting one for City, so let’s see where it takes them.
