TALENTED Lees-based cricketing siblings Xander and Lucas Selby are certainly making their mark on the county front.

Xander, aged 13, is currently starring for Lancashire's under-13s team in what is his fourth season with the Red Rose county.

TERRIFIC

Now, however, he has been joined by 10-year-old Lucas in the Lancashire ranks after he turned in numerous terrific batting performances for Delph last season.

Lucas has already featured for Delph at under-11s, 13s and 15s level, and recently struck a brilliant century while representing Oldham in a district match against Bury.

He played some super shots on his way to a score of 104 off 90 balls - an impressive effort indeed.

This is Lucas's first season with Lancashire. He secured his place in the county set-up after being one of 100 young hopefuls selected for trials.

He has since been selected for rain-affected matches against Yorkshire and Cheshire.

Xander, however, is now in the county under-13s squad after first being spotted while still an under-10.

A batsman/left-arm spin bowler, Xander scored a recent ton for the Oldham team he skippers, and has also been called up to play for Delph's second XI already this term.

Proud dad Jon, who himself has been a player, with Heyside, since 2010, said: "Xander and Lucas just love their cricket.

"They've both worked really hard at their game, while it's been a hectic time for me, arranging transport for them both to get to games here, there and everywhere.

"I'm so proud of them both."
