A COUPLE of great results on the road and Manchester City are flying once again.

Stoke is a notoriously difficult place to go to for any team, and City have struggled there in recent seasons. They have been a bit of a bogey side for the Blues.

However, last weekend they were competent if not spectacular in seeing off the Potters in some style in the end.

It's still very early in the season of course, but the City players do seem to be starting to buy into Pep Guardiola's way of playing and the systems and tactics he likes to employ.

He's certainly been a breath of fresh air around the training complex and the stadium, and all the staff are very happy to have him there.

The players were off yesterday, but he was in. His enthusiasm is really infectious and I'm sure that is getting through to the players on the pitch.

He is very approachable as I think I have said before. Everybody loves him.

It was a quite magnificent performance in the Champions League qualifier in Bucharest last Tuesday.

It was staggering at times, City could have scored 10 on the night.

It means that the second leg this Wednesday perhaps won't be as much a spectacle as it might have been, but Mr Guardiola will get a good opportunity to look at one or two so-called fringe players.

I don't think City will lose the second leg 6-0, whatever team he puts out.

I'm off to interview Richard Dunne later this week for a feature for the City website.

What a great player he was for the Blues.

He is still loved by the fans so that should prove a popular item on the website.

To be voted Player of the Year on four separate occasions was quite an achievement for Dunny. No other player has ever secured that many awards.

I think that says so much about the man and what a loyal servant he was to such a huge club.
