Election 2011
BUSINESS Secretary Vince Cable visited traders in Uppermill as he joined Lib-Dem hopeful Elwyn Watkins on the campaign trail.
The pair visited five shops during Friday’s visit including a butcher and greengrocer before relaxing with an ice cream in A Month Of Sundaes. Yesterday, Lib-Dem president Tim Farron joined Mr Watkins on the campaign trail.

So Cable was shopping the day BEFORE the VAT increase and in food shops where the Lib Dem broken promise on the VAT increase won't be noticed. How convenient?
I hope that nabody accepted any signed pledges off him
Jeremy Sutcliffe at it again whinging about a tax his party were going to raise. If your lot hadn't nearly bankrupted the country leaving hundreds of billions of pounds of debt (you conveniently ignore the £330+ billion of PFI debt) then we wouldn't have the cuts.
Your slogans are wrong cuts wrong time. So come on, tell us, what are the right cuts. Specific cuts please, not vague waffle. Right cuts and right time please? You have no answers. Political opportunism at its worst.
Oldham Watcher, prove my Party was going to raise VAT.

Wonderful visitng all these shops & businesses, but how many are actually constituents?
How about doing the door to door and finding out what people really think? Of course that's not going to happen because the Fib Dems know just what to expect from disenchanted people and that's not good PR, just ask Gordon Brown !
