£5m expansion of top schools

WORK has started on a £5.45 million project to expand seven successful primary schools to accommodate hundreds of extra pupils.
The new classrooms will mean Bare Tree, Mills Hill and Yew Tree in Chadderton, will be able to take an extra 80 reception class pupils a year.
Propps Hall in Failsworth, St Hilda’s in West Oldham, Watersheddings and East Crompton St George’s will increase their intake by a total of 70 pupils a year.
All seven schools have been rated as “outstanding” or “good” in their most recent Ofsted inspections.
The work is being funded by Oldham Council and the Government.
