Customer in damage spree at three pubs

A MAN went on a drunken wrecking spree in three Shaw pubs in February and March.

Christian Haslam (22), of Milnrow Road, Shaw, pleaded guilty before Oldham magistrates to three counts of criminal damage at the Coach and Horses, the Pineapple Inn and the Weaver’s Arms.

The first incident saw Haslam, in the middle of a 14-hour drinking binge, leaving toilets at the Weaver’s Arms in Milnrow Road, at around 11.45pm covered in water. The landlady found that a cistern and pipework had been smashed and water covered the floor.

Almost a month later Haslam was at the Pineapple Inn at around 12.50am when staff heard a window being smashed in the toilets.

Haslam was in the bar area, bleeding, but denied causing the damage and was asked to leave.

In the early hours Haslam was in the Coach and Horses when an argument broke out between him and another man.

Haslam punched a wall and was asked by bar staff to leave, at which point he pushed over a games machine, broke a stool and snashed a window.

In all he did £470 of damage at the Weaver’s Arms, £300 worth at the Pineapple Inn and £1,300 worth at the Coach and Horses, though he disputed some of the figures.

The case was adjourned until May 23 for reports. Haslam was warned not to enter any of the three pubs in the meantime.
