Car stolen from drive

POLICE are warning residents to be vigilant after burglars stole an Audi A3 from a driveway on Hawksmore Drive, Shaw, on Saturday between 4.40 and 4.55am.


They also stole a bike from the shed of the property, then gained access to the house and plundered three mobile phones, among other items, before spotting car keys and making off in the vehicle.

QUEEN Street Conservative Club is holding an indoor car boot sale on Sunday. Costing £5 per table, set up starts at 9am with doors opening at 10.30am. All proceeds go to the family of three-year-old Tehyah Solan-Clarke, who, as the Chronicle reported, is in an induced coma after suffering three strokes.


TEMPORARY two-way traffic signals have been placed on Milnrow Road close to the junction with Oswald Street until Sunday for gas main works. Workers will manually operate the lights between 7.30 and 9.30am and between 3.30 and 6pm to manage traffic flow.



FROZEN Day is a fun-filled day of acting, singing and dancing for children aged five to 10 between 10am and 3pm at Woodend Mill, Manchester Road, costing £10.
