Burglary alert

RESIDENTS are being warned to be extra vigilant after two televisions and a white Seat Ibiza were taken from a house in Whitehead Street, High Crompton, sometime over the weekend.

The raiders smashed the rear kitchen door window and reached through to unlock.


CASH was stolen from the Royal Oak Hotel, Shawcroft Close, Shaw, during a break-in on Saturday night. Anyone with information should call police on 101.


AN Elvis tribute act will rock Tara Sports and Leisure, Grains Road, on Saturday, October 25, from 7.30pm to raise money for the Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends. Tickets, priced £10, avaiable on 07752-968 201.


A SPOOKY Halloween party will take place at the Queen Anne Inn, Church Road, on Tuesday, October 28, between 3.30 and 5.30pm, priced £2.


A HALLOWEEN party will take place at Crompton Cricket Club on Friday, October 31, from 7pm until late. There will be a raffle, fancy dress, best carved pumpkin competition and games.
