A JUMBLE sale takes place tonight at Heyside Reformed Church, Hebron Street from 7. Admission is 20p and all proceeds go to the church.

SATURDAY night is bonfire night at Crompton Cricket club, Glebe Street, Shaw from 7. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children.

POLICE are hunting two burglars who kicked down a door panel to get into a house in Buckstones Road, Shaw ,between 9.30 and 11.10am on Friday, last week. Anyone with information should call police on 101.


SHAW and Crompton remembrance service will be held at the war memorial at 10.55am on Sunday. A procession will assemble at the Royal British Legion Club, Newtown Street, Shaw, at 10.30am setting off to the war memorial at 10.40.


A NIGHT of the proms takes place at Tara Bars & Leisure, Grains Road Shaw, on Saturday from 7pm. The night features Wardle Anderson Brass Band and is in aid of Shaw & Crompton Parish Council Chairman’s Charities. Tickets cost £8, and £4 for under 11s.
