Stolen car

A SILVER VW Golf was stolen from Edward Road between 6.30pm last Friday and 11am on Saturday.
The thief took the vehicle keys from a sideboard in the owner’s home and drove the car away.
A CHRISTMAS craft fair will be held at Shore Edge Methodist Church, Buckstones Road, on Saturday between 10am and 2pm. There will be jewellery, cards, toys and other gifts.
CROMPTON House Dance Show is on tonight and tomorrow from 7 to 9pm. The sixth form are also organising a number of fund-raising events for Children In Need tomorrow with pupils encouraged to bring spare change.
SHAW and Crompton’s Christmas lights switch-on takes place on Friday, November 28, by “Frozen” stars Anna and Elsa from 6.30pm in the town centre. There will be mulled wine and an appearance from Latics mascot Chaddy the Owl.
A BREAK-IN took place at The Pound Bakery, Market Street, between 5.15pm last Saturday and 7.30am on Monday. Offenders smashed a rear window and searched through staff lockers and paperwork before making off with a small amount of cash.
A KNITTING group is held every Wednesday afternoon between 1 and 3pm and every Wednesday and Thursday evening between 7 and 9pm at Albert Mill, Newhey Road.
AWARD-WINNING folk duo Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, who won best duo in the BBC2 Folk Awards, will perform at the Playhouse 2 Theatre tomorrow from 8pm. Call 01706-847281 for more information.
