SHAW and Crompton’s Christmas lights switch-on takes place tomorrow, with “Frozen” stars Anna and Elsa from 6.30pm in the town centre.
There will be mulled wine and an appearance from Latics mascot Chaddy the Owl.
SANTA and his merry helpers will be in Asda, Shaw, on Saturday between 10am and 2pm and 4 to 6pm to collect cash for local charities. The collection is being organised by the Rotary Club of Royton and Crompton.
TAKE part in Key 103’s Mission Christmas and donate an unwrapped gift suitable for children and young people living in poverty aged up to 18. Ryder and Dutton and Barclays, Market Street, are the drop off points in Shaw. Gifts can also be dropped off at the Chronicle offices in Union Street.
POWER tools were stolen from a vehicle in Park Street, Shaw, on Friday between 2.50 and 4.30am. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
A stereo was stolen from a vehicle at Victoria Gardens, Shaw, between 9pm Friday and 11.30am Saturday. Offenders smashed the offside window to get in. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
CROMPTON Stage Society is performing “The Ladykillers”, by Graham Linehan — writer of TV comedy “Father Ted” — from Saturday to Saturday, December 6, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Interiors, Shaw. Call 01706-840 400 for more information.
ENTRIES for the Great Crompton House Bake Off competition should be received in school by tomorrow and the stubs for the Christmas draw tickets and money should also be returned to the finance office by tomorrow.
