PICTURE perfect: this shot of Chadderton Park FC’s Leo Stott and Harvey Hassall has won a national competition
THIS heart-warming picture of Chadderton Park FC’s cerebral palsy football team is the winner of a national photography competition.
Chadderton Park club secretary Craig Simpson entered his photo in Nikon’s Christmas photo competition, “#12daysofNikon”. The competition sets a new challenge for budding snappers on each day of Christmas — 12 prizes for 12 days.
On the ninth day people were asked to send in their best sports pictures, and Craig’s shot of Leo Stott and Harvey Hassall at training won the nation’s hearts.
Craig said: “It is amazing to have won something like this. When I entered the picture I never thought it would actually win. We are the only club in the North of England with a cerebral palsy football team and that really needs to be celebrated.”
The image can now be seen in the gallery on Nikon’s competition website, and it will also be included in Nikon’s photo exhibition in London.
