IN loving memory: Roy’s daughter Debbie Morris, grandson Chris Dibley, wife Denise Taylor and dog Jack
SECRET Santa Roy Taylor’s family has set up a fund in memory of the late dad and grandad.
Only a week after Roy was laid to rest, a JustGiving page set up by his 17-year-old grandson Chris Dibley has raised more than £1,000 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
The whole family, including Roy’s daughter Debbie Morris and his wife, Denise, are behind the appeal.
Chris wrote: “My grandad was an amazing man and a great role model, he would often do things that most people wouldn’t even consider like giving away £1,000 at Christmas to unsuspecting shoppers just to spread joy.
“He was treated with the best care and respect and was made to feel comfortable in his last remaining days. They made everything better for him and offered our family support when he passed away.
“This is what makes me respect and admire my grandad and my way of thanking Dr Kershaw’s for making his last days comfortable is to try to raise some money.”
Debbie says they have been amazed by the response to the appeal with one anonymous donor gifting them £311 just to take the total up to £1,000.
“It’s been fantastic,” she said.
