Homes suffer blackout

HUNDREDS of homes in Oldham were left in the dark for several hours yesterday after a power cut affected several parts of the borough.
Families in Oldham, Royton, Shaw, Chadderton and Moorside were affected by a fault on the high voltage network in the area.
Others reported experiencing flickering lights for several hours during the evening.
Engineers from Electricity North-West restored full power before midnight.
