FRIENDS of Jubilee Colliery are seeking volunteers to help maintain the heritage site and the surrounding area. Go to the colliery, on Shaw Road, between 10am and 2pm every Monday.


AN arts and crafts fair is being held at the Duke of York pub, Heyside, on Saturday, from 11am with cards, gifts and jewellery.


DOG walkers are holding a mass dog walk on Sunday, June 21, to raise money for the RSPCA’s planned new centre in Strinesdale. The walk will go from George Street Park to Hollingworth Lake and is £5 per pet.


MOTORISTS should be aware that Moor Street will be closed for five days from Monday, June 15, to carry out sewer works.


MUSICAL theatre classes are held every Wednesday at Shore Edge Church, Buckstones Road, from 5-6pm. Call Millie on 07833-448603.


SHAW Parish Church hosts a toddler group in the church hall, Church Street, each Monday and Wednesday (9.30-11.30am) for under-fives. There is no need to book — just turn up on the day.
