Coffee morning

PUT the kettle on for the monthly community coffee morning today at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, High Crompton, Shaw, from 10.30am until noon.

Coffee and cakes available, everyone welcome. The session is held on the first Thursday of each month.


COMMUNITY concerns can be discussed at the Shaw and Crompton councillors’ ward surgery at Shaw Lifelong Learning Centre, High Street, Shaw, tonight and every Thursday in February from 7.30 to 8.30pm.


BUDDING bards can meet up at the Perform Theatre Group at St Paul’s Methodist Church, Shaw, tomorrow from 6.30 to 8pm. Ages six and upwards. Meet friends and gain confidence. Call Tony on 07934-375 880.


FUN learning for the under-fives can be had at a Play Together, Learn Together session at Shaw and Crompton Children’s Centre, High Street, Shaw, on Tuesday from 1.15 to 2.45pm. For children over 18 months, younger siblings welcome. Call 0161-770 5308.


DRIVERS are advised of overnight closures on Shaw Road between Mortimer Street and Daltrey Street for five nights starting on Monday. The section of road will be closed for resurfacing work from 7.30pm to 6am. Diversions will be in place.


CROMPTON House School is reminding parents to be considerate when collecting or dropping off children. Parking on the school side of Rochdale Road means traffic leaving the school site cannot see oncoming vehicles.
