HELP to support a new community venture at Cafe Mandel, based in Dunwood Park, Woodend Shaw, which opens on Saturday 9am to 4.30pm.
Tea, coffee, and refreshments are available. The cafe is run by not-for-profit organisation Right Opportunities CIC. All welcome.
ENJOY a brew or two at a coffee morning and bring and buy sale on Saturday 10.30am to noon at the Salvation Army headquarters, Farrow Street, Shaw. In aid of church funds.
SHAW residents aged 70 and over are invited to a luncheon club which runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Members can enjoy a two-course meal plus tea for £4. For venue details and times call Sylvia Robinson on 01706 841 825.
KEEP youngsters aged up to 18 months active this half-term with Bounce and Rhyme at Crompton Library, Farrow Street, Shaw, on Tuesday.
Songs, rhymes, sensory play and musical equipment. No need to book.
VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with a community clean-up organised by Councillor Diane Williamson next weekend (April 2-3). The clean-up will involve Crompton Bowling Club and Crompton Cricket Club, For more details call 01706 558 036.
MAKE a date in your diary for the Friends of Dunwood Park annual meeting on April 7 at St James Church Hall (corner of Salt Street/Shaw bypass) 7 to 8pm. Annual report, future plans, informal discussion with committee members over cheese, wine and soft drinks. All welcome.
CROMPTON House School raised £1,070 for Sport Relief through a non-uniform day and a series of gym tests between staff and sixth form students.
