Police probe death of father-of-eight David

A DAD-of-eight who tragically died after an incident at his home in Royton has been named.
Police were called shortly before 2.05am on Friday morning by the ambulance service to Kensington Avenue, Royton where David McMillan (41) was being treated by paramedics.
He was taken to hospital where he died. A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and has now been released on bail until March 3.
Residents said the incident had involved some sort of fight however detectives are yet to confirm this.
His dad Kevin, sister Louise, and three brothers Kevin Junior, Peter and Robert, who live in Ireland, said in a statement: "The family are shocked and devastated and we are trying to come to terms with his death."
Det Supt Joanne Rawlinson, of GMP's Public Protection Department, said: "This is a tragic incident, resulting in a man losing his life and my thoughts are with his family at this time.
"We have a team of experienced officers working to determine the exact circumstances that have led to the man's death.
"We are however, still in the early stages of the investigation and I would ask anyone with information to get in contact."
