CLASSROOMS and assembly halls have been reduced to rubble at the former Byron Street School in Royton.
Demolition work is continuing on site at the former primary school as the buildings are levelled ready for the land to be put on the market for housing.
The school, which first opened in 1907, had become a target for vandalism and anti-social behaviour after it closed seven years ago.
The school merged with High Barn Junior School to become Royton Hall Primary in 2008 and moved to a new building a year later.
