CROMPTON House School is celebrating success at the Oldham Schools Cross-Country championships held at Chadderton Hall Park.

There were victories for Year seven and Year eight boys and girls as well as Year 10 and Year 11 boys. This meant an overall win for both the boys and girls teams with individual wins for Marcus Dey of Year eight and Chris Brown of Year 11.


A BRIDGE club takes place every Friday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at the Life Long learning Centre on High Street. Call 0161 770 5544 for more information.

TRY handball every Monday during term-time from 5 to 6pm for eight to 12s and from 6-7pm for 13 to 16-year-olds at Royton and Crompton school, sessions cost £2. Call 01706 846474 for more information.

RESIDENTS can get advice on issues affecting them at Crompton Library’s drop-in sessions. The Citizens’ Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice from 9.30-11am. KEEP fit with Royton, Shaw & Crompton Basketball Club on Wednesdays from 5.30 to 8pm at Royton & Crompton School Sports Hall, Blackshaw Lane. Anyone aged from eight to 16 is welcome to go along to learn new skills with this new club for just £1.

SHAW Parish Church hosts a toddler group in the church hall, Church Street, every Monday and Wednesday from 9.30 to 11.30am for under-fives. No need to book, just pop along.
