Join in carols

MEMBERS of Churches Together in Royton are invited to join a Christmas carol singing event at Royton Precinct on Saturday.

Oldham Hulme Brass Band will provide the music and singers are encouraged to meet at Trinity Church at 10.30am, with singing until noon.

Hot drinks will be provided by the church after the caroling.


PLANNING permission has been approved for the building of one detached three-bedroom home on vacant land adjacent to 323 Middleton Road, Royton.


COME along to a Christmas carol sing-a-long at Fir Lane Methodist Church, Royton, tomorrow, starting at 7.30pm. There will be carols, mince pies, coffee and a collection for the charity Shelter at the event.

A CANDLELIGHT carol service raising money for the Barnabus Project will take place at Trinity Methodist Church at 7pm on Wednesday.


TEENS looking to get fit this December can visit Royton Glogym, Park Street, on Tuesdays and Thursdays to use the equipment under the supervision of instructors. To find out more about the sessions, which last from 3.30 to 4.30pm, call 0161-207 7000.


A SERVICE of Nine Lessons and Carols will take place at St Anne’s Church, Royton, on Sunday, at 6pm.


PLANS to build 14 new homes on council-owned land at Blackshaw Lane and Cornish Way have been approved.
