LOCAL police officers will be holding the Royton and Shaw Pub and Club Watch meeting at Oddfellows Social Club, Union Street, Royton, on Wednesday, January 29, between 10 and 11am.


PLANNING permission has been approved to build one detached property with associated parking at Highlands Farm, Royton. Meanwhile, an application has been received to replace the existing side garage and utility with a two-storey side extension and single-storey extension to the rear of 20 Newark Park Way, Royton.

OLDHAM Academy North are hosting fun sports sessions for young people with disabilities and additional needs aged 11-25 years. The sessions, from 6 to 7.30pm every Tuesday, include football, basketball and hockey. Entrance costs £1 and there is no need to book.

FOODIES should head to Royton Real Food Market on Sunday, February 2, where there will be three new stalls including home-brewed special cider, home-made pies as well as gluten-free and vegetarian pies. It takes place from 9am until noon at Royton Precinct.

DETAILED displays for Royton’s new state-of-the-art leisure centre will be on display at the existing Royton Sports Centre, Crompton Pool and Royton Library from the start of February.

REGISTER now for the annual hospice to hospice walk, raising money for both Dr Kershaw’s and Rochdale’s Springhill Hospice.
