Police hunt shop raider

POLICE are hunting for a robber armed with a baseball bat who stole cash from a terrified shop assistant.
The attack took place at the Haggate Storei in Middleton Road, Royton, where the thug demanded money before fleeing with hundreds of pounds in cash and £50 in £1 coins.
The raider was white, around 5ft 9 tall, of medium build and in his 20s. He wore a black woollen balaclava with a peak, a jacket, and had a strong local accent.
Police are appealing for information about the robbery or the attacker. The incident happened at around 5.50pm on Saturday.
