ROYTON Local History Society will be delving into 1,000 years of Knutsford history tonight at 7.30.
The talk, at Downey House, is free for members and £1.50 for visitors including refreshments.
ROYTON’S Post Office will close from 5.30pm tomorrow to undergo a redesign. The Rochdale Road branch will reopen on 1pm on Tuesday, May 6. During the closure, customers can use alternative branches — Coldhurst Post Office, 293 Rochdale Road or Shaw Post Office at 33 Rochdale Road.
OPEN Access Youth Zone for young people aged eight to 16 will take place at Royton Youth Centre from 1-3pm on tomorrow. Contact Lynda on 0161-770 8648 for more information.
A MULTI-activity sports camp will run at Oldham Academy North, Royton from today until Thursday. The camp, running from 10am until 3pm each day, costs £3 a day and includes a variety of sports activities for ages eight to 16. Bring suitable clothing, footwear, a packed lunch and drinks. A POLICE Homewatch meeting will take place at Oddfellows Social Club, Union Street, on Thursday, 7-8pm.
ST Anne’s Primary School, on Ormerod Avenue, has submitted an application to build new fencing at the site to the main entrance of the school building.
PLANNING approval has been given to build new front and rear dormers at 5 Hindle Drive, Royton.
COMMUNITY and voluntary groups can learn the art of writing funding applications during a practical workshop run by Voluntary Action Oldham at Royton Town Hall, 5.30-7.30pm on Thursday, May 1.
