Injured rider airlifted to hospital

EMERGENCY teams ferry the rider to hospital
A SERIOUSLY injured moped rider was airlifted to hospital after a collision with a lorry in Royton yesterday.
The rider suffered a broken pelvis and leg and was flown to Wythenshawe Hospital’s major trauma unit.
The collision was on Broadway near its junction with Netherhey Lane mid-afternoon, bringing the road to a standstill until 5pm.
The rider was trapped under the wreckage of his moped until emeergency crews freed him.
A FEMALE driver had to be cut from her car after it overturned at the M60 anticlockwise exit in Hollinwood early this morning.
After being rescued from the car by fire fighters shortly after 4am, the woman was given first aid at the scene before being taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital. The junction was closed for a short period.
