Mudder marvel
Date published: 08 August 2014
A ROYTON man has set about conquering five gruelling challenges to raise money for research into Alzheimer’s.
Patrick Harwood (26) completed his second of five exhausting tasks on Saturday.
Patrick, who works at St Joseph’s Primary School, Shaw, completed the Manchester 10k in May and on Saturday finished the notorious Tough Mudder in Yorkshire.
He took on the Skipton-based obstacle course with his friend Ant Duffy. Patrick said: “We had lots of fun but it was very brutal on the body.”
He added: “I have seen at close hand how Alzheimer’s can affect not just the sufferer but also the immediate family.”
His next challenge is the Oldham 10k on August 17, which will be followed by the Oldham half marathon on October 12, and the Birmingham half marathon seven days later.
