POP into the Blue Bell Inn, Royton, to support a 24-hour fundraising darts marathon on Friday. It stars at 6pm.


PLANNING permission has been granted for the building of two control kiosks and associated works at Royton Wastewater Treatment Works, in Street Bridge. The work aims to improve the existing wastewater treatment process.


HELP raise money for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice on Sunday, August 31, by supporting a “Lifenotes Concert” at the Old Grey Mare, Oldham Road, Royton, from 1 to 11pm. A host of bands and artistes will take to the stage, indoors and out. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting and stalls.


THE Summit Inn, in Rochdale Road, has reopened following a £40,000 revamp to turn it into a Flaming Grill pub.



DR Kershaw’s Hospice will be hosting an autumn bring and buy event on Saturday, September 6 from 10am to 1pm. There will be a variety of homebake, craft and toys available as well as refreshments. The hospice will also be asking for donations of any unused gifts for future tombolas.


PLAY Together, Learn Together, which offers free activities for children aged 18 months to 5 years and their parents, is available at Royton Children’s Centre every Tuesday. The classes cost £1.50 per family and help to prepare children for nursery and school. For more information call 0161-770 5314.
