TAKE part in local democracy at the Royton District Executive meeting and community forum on Monday, October 6, from 6pm.

The meeting, taking place at Royton Youth Centre, Chapel Street sets up the chance to speak to councillors and discuss Royton events and issues.


FAMILIES can take part in the Xplorer navigation challenge at Tandle Hill visitor centre on Saturday, October 4. The free event, running from 10am to noon, gives children a chance to navigate the park and learn fun facts.


ROYTON Local History Society will hear from Father Peter McEvitt, vicar of St Paul’s Church, Royton, as he presents an illustrated talk on the church’s historic organ and its forthcoming restoration. The talk will take place on Monday, October 13, from 7.30pm at St Paul’s Church with refreshments served after in Downey House. Members is free or £1.50 for visitors.


A NEW cheerleading class will begin today at Oldham Academy North. Designed for over-sevens, the classes run from 6 to 7pm and cost £4.50. For more information contact Air Athletics on 07517865065.


TEST your general knowledge at a quiz night at Royton Cricket Club on Friday, October 10. Taking place from 7.30pm admission is £2 with team of up to six people. Funds raised will go to The Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends.


STOP by for a coffee and a chat at Sight Support Oldham every Tuesday at Downey House, St Paul’s Church. Taking place from 10am to noon, the morning includes peer-to-peer support, games and advice for those who are visually impaired as well as family, friends and carers.
