Forum meeting

TAKE part in local democracy at the Royton District Executive Meeting and Community Forum tonight, from 6pm.

The meeting, taking place at Royton Youth Centre, Chapel Street, is a chance to speak to councillors and discuss Royton events or issues.


ROYTON Local History Society will hear from Father Peter McEvitt, vicar of St Paul’s Church, Royton, as he presents an illustrated talk on the church’s historic organ and its forthcoming restoration. The event will take place on Monday, October 13, from 7.30pm, at St Paul’s Church, with refreshments served afterwards in Downey House. Entrance for members is free or £1.50 for visitors.


TEST your general knowledge at a quiz night at Royton Cricket Club on Friday. Taking place from 7.30pm, admission is £2 with teams of up to six people. Funds raised will go to The Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends.


FIND out more about Royton Townswomen’s Guild during a meeting on Tuesday, October 14. There will be a talk about flower arrangements and a raffle from 7.30pm at Royton Town Hall, with information about other events and activities. PLANNING permission has been given to build a sectional timber building with roof at Brookside Poultry Farm, Harewood Drive, Royton.


HELP raise money for Macmillan as Alice In Shabbyland hosts an open day on Sunday, from 10am to 2pm. The furniture company will host a coffee and cake stall, with mask making, face painting and raffle also at the showroom in Charton House, Holden Fold Lane, Royton.


PLANNING permission has been approved for the erection of a front and side dormer at 16 Carlton Way, Royton.


SHARE stories and rhymes at Royton Library every Thursday morning between 10-11. The free sessions are for the under 5s.
