Driver injured in collision

A TAXI driver was taken to hospital after an accident in Royton on Friday night.
Emergency services rushed to the accident in Shaw Road at around 11pm after two cars, a taxi and a Toyota Yaris, collided. There were three passengers in the taxi and two in the Yaris.
The roof of the taxi had to be removed and the driver, believed to be in his 40s, was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
The other passengers were not badly injured. The road was briefly closed.
