HAVE your voice heard and speak to local councillors at the Royton District Executive meeting and community forum on Monday, January 19, at Royton Youth Centre, Chapel Street, from 6pm.


FIND out more about the “Working Canals of England” as Mike Greenwood gives a talk at Royton Townswomen’s Guild on Tuesday, January 13. The meeting will take place at Royton Town Hall from 7.30pm. Entrance is £1 for members, £2 for visitors, including refreshments.


A PLANNING application has been received to build a single storey rear extension at 68 Cemetery Road, Royton.


THERE will be no January or February meeting of the Royton Local History Society. Meetings will return on March 9.

DR Kershaw’s Hospice will be hosting an Unwanted Gifts Day on Sunday, January 18 from 10am to 2pm. People can donate any unwanted presents, chocolates or toys at the hospice so they can be used in future fundraising tombolas, raffles and hampers.

POLICE are urging drivers not to leave their cars unattended while de-icing them after several thefts over the Christmas period.
