DEAL DONE: now Royton’s new supermarket can go ahead
THE opening of Royton’s new Lidl store is now a step closer following a land-transfer agreement.
The discount supermarket chain can now start work on the development. The first work is expected to begin in the autumn, for the store’s openng next year
Oldham Council approved plans for the 22,000 sq. ft. store earlier this year. The hope it that it will help to revive the fortunes of the centre of Royton and the former assembly hall area.
The new store will join 600 Lidl stores across the UK and will create up to 30 jobs.
