Bogus callers con pensioner

POLICE are advising residents to be vigilant after an elderly woman was the victim of a distraction burglary on Queensgate Drive, Royton, on August 28.


The offenders entered the house by an unlocked door and asked the woman to switch off her gas. While she was distracted they stole her handbag. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

GET help from Citizens’ Advice during a drop-in session at Royton Library on Wednesday. Open from 9.30am to 12.30pm, the sessions aim to help residents resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing fee, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.
