BURGLARS are believed to have used a hook on a cane to fish front-door keys left in the lock inside a property on Valley Road, Royton to get in on Sunday, September 13. Cash and appliances were taken.


ENJOY a coffee morning and help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday. Lilian Day will be hosting a fund-raising event, complete with coffee, cakes and homebake, from 10am to 3.30pm at 35 Pennine View, Royton.


POLICE will hold a surgery at Trinity Methodist Church, Radcliffe Street, on Thursday from 10am to noon.


HAVE fun and help raise money for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice at a fun day at The Haggate Pub, Middleton Road, Royton, on Saturday. Starting at 3pm, the day will involve food, games, music, a bouncy castle and charity challenges including sitting in a bath of custard and sponsored leg waxes.


PLANNING permission to build a single-storey front extension, two storey side extension and a single-storey rear extension at 6 Hawkshead Drive, Royton, has been granted.


ROYTON Hall Primary School will host a Macmillan coffee morning on Friday from 2pm. Visit the school to enjoy a cake and learn more about the PTA.


LEARN more about dementia and how to help people live well with the disease at a free workshop in Royton on Tuesday, September 29. Taking place at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Turf Lane, from 12.30 to 4pm, the event, organised by Home Instead Senior Care, is open to anyone who supports a loved one with any form of dementia as well as any health and social care professionals or volunteers.
