ENJOY games and keep active with the Royton half-term sports camp taking place until Friday at Oldham Academy North.

Open to ages eight to 16, the week-long sports camp will feature a variety of activities. No booking required, sessions cost £4 a day and the camp is open from 10am until 3pm.

AN application to remove timber garages and build one four-bedroom house at 45 Turfland Avenue, Royton, was refused after it was determined the development would undermine the character and visual amenity of the area.


A TWO-STOREY side extension, including front and rear dormers for 103 Denbydale Way was approved.


VOLUNTEERS are wanted to help run the four rainbow units, five brownie units and three buide units in Royton. Volunteers need to be women or girls aged 14+. For more information visit www.girlguiding. org.uk/get_involved


LOCAL Royton artist Robert Lees is hosting his third exhibition of landscape paintings at Royton Library until February 27.


TICKETS are now on sale for Crompton and Royton Rotary Club’s “Friday Night is Our Music Night” at St Anne’s Church, Royton, on March 11. The event, which starts at 7.30pm, features hit songs from various musicals, canapés and a glass of wine. Proceeds will go to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
